MEET SUSAN
(Founder and Creator of BBB)
I created Brown + Balanced + Beautiful with one purpose in mind: to honor and hold space for women of color—to celebrate who we are, prioritize our wellness, and build community around the simple but radical idea that we deserve to just be.
With a background in Maternal and Child Health and a Master of Public Health from Rutgers University, my work has always centered on the well-being of women. I’ve seen firsthand how often we’re expected to carry the weight of the world—showing up strong, nurturing others, and pushing forward, even when we’re running on empty.
That’s why Brown + Balanced + Beautiful exists. Through our signature experiences, we promote self-care, burnout prevention, and real, joy-filled connection. These aren’t just events—they’re sacred spaces for rest, reflection, laughter, and celebration. Spaces where you don’t have to explain yourself or earn your worth. Spaces where you can exhale.
Purpose
The Brown + Balanced + Beautiful Wellness Brunch (BBB) is an exclusive, transformative event designed to promote wellness, intentional rest, and community for women of color navigating the demands of entrepreneurship, leadership, and professional life.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to cultivate safe, affirming spaces where women of color can prioritize their self-care, nurture their wellbeing, and build strong, supportive community connections. We are committed to disrupting burnout and reducing stress by centering rest, healing, and collective empowerment as essential forms of resistance and resilience. Through intentional gatherings, resources, and shared experiences, we honor the fullness of each woman’s journey and foster a culture of care that uplifts and sustains.

Wellness That Lifts Women & Families At Brown + Balanced + Beautiful, we believe that wellness is not just individual — it’s communal. Part of being well means ensuring the women and families in our community are supported, resourced, and uplifted. Last year, we took action by collecting gently used professional attire to help women confidently enter or re-enter the workforce.
